Expert massage therapy in Tillsonburg

Massage therapy is an established technique to provide relief for health conditions such as arthritis, muscle strains, migraines, and back pain. Unlike leisure spa massages which focus primarily on relaxation, massage therapy is focused on your specific health problems.

Massage therapy involves manipulation of the soft tissues of the body including muscles, connective tissue, tendons, ligaments and joints. It helps alleviate the soft tissue discomfort associated with everyday and occupational stresses, muscular over-use and many chronic pain conditions.

Massage therapy can be beneficial to people of all ages and conditions and is widely used to help obtain relief from:

  • Inflammatory conditions including arthritis, tendinitis and fibromyalgia
  • Stress relief
  • Sports related stiffness, soreness or muscle fatigue
  • Headaches and migraines
  • Muscle conditions including spasms, strains and sprains
  • Back pain
  • Repetitive strain injury (RSI)
  • Circulatory and respiratory problems
  • Pregnancy and labour discomfort
  • Post-injury and post surgical rehabilitation

Sports massage in Oxford County

Sports can be repetitive. Sports massage can help improve performance and prevent injury, in addition to helping the body recover from injuries associated with physical activity. Sports massage helps:

  • Release muscle tension
  • Promote tissue repair
  • Restore muscle balance

If employed early enough after sporting incident involving trauma or injury, sports therapy can greatly reduce the development of painful muscular patterning.

Jessica can tailor your sports massage to your specific requirements for your particular sport or workout routine. Call us for more information, or to book your initial consultation session.

Manual Lymphatic Drainage

Your lymphatic system is important to keeping your body’s immune system working well. Your lymph glands and associated system is responsible for:

  • Removing excess fluids from body tissues
  • Absorbing fatty acids
  • Transporting fat to the circulatory system
  • Production of immune cells including lymphocytes

It’s an extremely efficient system – most of the time. However, after surgery or cancer treatments, for example, excess lymph fluid can build up, causing chronic swelling in the tissue known as lymphedema. Your lymph nodes normally help ‘suck’ this fluid away, but if removed or compromised by illness, fluid can build up and not drain

Manual lymphatic drainage helps your body drain that excess fluid using light pressure, which is both effective and soothing. Using just a light skin stretching movement, our massage specialist can help move fluid towards the lymph nodes for removal This in turn helps your body’s natural healing process by decreasing bruising and swelling, and increasing comfort.
